Say Goodbye to Sun-Damaged Skin with Forever Young BBL™

Say Goodbye to Sun-Damaged Skin with Forever Young BBL™

California is also known as The Golden State. We are fortunate on the West Coast to enjoy year-round sunshine, stunning sunsets, and the beauty of the ocean.

If you’re like most Californians, you probably love to bask in the sun. Unfortunately, year-round sunshine doesn’t come without a drawback – sun-damaged skin.

Sunspots. Wrinkles. A dull complexion. Are these unwanted skin concerns causing you to look older than you feel?

Say goodbye to damaged skin with Forever Young Broadband Light (BBL). Shantique Med Spa provides BBL to patients in Torrance, California, who want to erase years off their complexion.

More comprehensive than a laser

You can have the radiant skin you’ve always wanted with Sciton®’s comprehensive BBL system. BBL involves a handheld device that doesn’t use a laser, but rather a wavelength of light. A wavelength of light can be imagined similar to a camera flash with 500-1200 nanometers of light penetrating your skin.

BBL offers better results than a laser by treating multiple skin concerns in one treatment. The variety of wavelengths can target specific skin molecules, including melanin for pigmentation, water for improving collagen production, and hemoglobin to improve vascular lesions.

BBL revamps your skin by:

You’ll notice an improvement in your skin after one treatment, but you might need two to six appointments to get the best results.

What to expect during treatment

BBL treatment is easy. Your skilled technician will do all the work while you sit back and relax. Most patients don’t find the treatment to be painful, but a bit uncomfortable.

We cleanse your skin to start your treatment and give you a set of protective eyewear before applying a gel to your face and neck. Next, we glide the BBL device across your skin, making a series of passes that emit light energy deep into your skin.

The light passes through the dermis, the outer layer of skin, to treat pigmentation, acne, and sun damage. Then it reaches the second layer of skin, the epidermis, to address rosacea and stimulate collagen production.

Once we have completed treatment, we cool down your skin and remove the gel. Lastly, we apply an SPF and explain the aftercare process. Your skin works to heal itself over the next two to three weeks following treatment to reduce the appearance of skin concerns and reveal, dewy, youthful skin.

No downtime

Yes, you read right – there is no downtime associated with BBL. It is important, though, to be gentle with your skin for 7-14 days afterward, so you can get the most out of your treatment.

Brown spots may become darker before flaking off in 7-14 days. This is completely normal, but it is important to not pick or scrub your skin – just let them fall off naturally.

Your skin may appear swollen, red, and sensitive after treatment, which usually resides within a day or two. You can apply an ice pack or aloe vera to soothe your skin. Avoid sun exposure for a minimum of seven days, and wear an SPF 30 or greater every day to sustain your results.
